Description

Purpose

Responsible for the general management of the companies and operations, leading the elaboration of their Commercial Budgets, supporting the elaboration of their Commercial Plans and overseeing their business execution and performance assuming P&L accountability.

Key Accountabilities

Operations

  • Ensure correct and complete implementation of the commercial plan for the companies under his/her scope.
  • Adding value and know-how to the execution of the operating model, and adapting the organization to local needs.
  • Works with Division Chief Executive Officer on tactical business development, provide input to the Country strategy planning and contribute to business decisions
  • Supports the Division Commercial Director in the elaboration of the Commercial Plan for the companies under his scope
  • Manages and monitors the Commercial Budgets of the companies under his scope with the input from the Commercial Plan and the SLAs and forecasting on personnel expenses and concession fees
  • Interfaces with procurement and logistics on issues pertaining to SLAs negotiated by the Division CEO
  • Manages costs and overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of operations
  • Monitors, measures and reports operational issues, opportunities, development plans and achievement within agreed formats and time
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, suchs as airport and customers
  • Make sure that all companies policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times, with exceptions being forwarded to the appropriate Division or Global Director

People

  • Manages the Country People Plan to have the right people in the right place at the right time with the right capabilities, making sure it is commercially aligned to drive business performance
  • Actively works on people performance within the Country, proactively dealing with high and low performers
  • Coaches people through leading by example on all people issues, ensuring compliance with local and corporate requirements

Finance

  • Actively manages all financial targets, putting action plans into place for under performing areas of the business
  • Uses the business community matrix to maximize the support for the business unit to achieve its financial targets and drive revenue

Customer

  • Is the leader of great service within the country to make sure that the customer experience at Dufry is exceptional every time

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • 5 years of operations experience with 3 years of general manager experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the retail or consumer goods industry
